May Update – Sorry For Going MIA

May Update – Sorry For Going MIA

Hey there, friends.  It seems like I have done this all too often since I took that stinker of a month in March.  I just kinda go missing.  Unfortunately, this was a very busy May for me.  It seemed that every day had things happening right away that occupied the trading times I like, which is the morning.  I did try to keep on top of things and get some market related studying done, but I can’t say I had enough focus to even attempt trading.  Keep in mind there is like 15 grand in my account…I’d like to not waste it just because I want to tell you about something. May was always going to be a busy month for me, I just didn’t expect it to be this busy.  It was my moms bday at the start of the month.  My brother decided to come up from...

Just a Bad Week

Hey Kids!  Sorry I didn’t post anything much this week.  I didn’t bother trading any day, although I did watch a lot.  I was trying to do a bit of a reset where I see whats going on and look at entries to see how they would pan out.  I am thinking that I need to refine my risk area.  I tend to get in early, then have the move go against me but I can see it on the chart.  I really should be able to accept this and add in at a better price – OR – kill it right away.  See the movement through and then jump in at the better price.  Too many times on my losses I am right about the overall trend, but wrong on timing.  I get sucked into dips or pops that take me out and then fire right back down to where I wanted the chart to go.  It’s...

St.Paddy’s Week 2016

St.Paddy’s Week 2016

Oh man!  Obviously, I haven’t been terribly motivated to trade lately.  I have been dealing with the after affects of that losing streak hangover.  I was sure that a little break was in order.  I just need to get my head back in line.  So, I have reset my thinking a little.  I am going back to what worked before.  Focus on a smaller mover and work that.  I did trade today but I will summarize that this weekend.  I want to let you know what the hell I’ve been up to! In Toronto we have a brewery down by the SkyDome (If you want to call it the Rogers Centre then go fuck yourself!!!) and they make only one type of beer.  Fortunately, it’s a beer that I like.  They also throw amazing St.Paddy’s day and Oktoberfest parties.  You get to drink out...

2015 Year in Review

2015 Year in Review

I know I am late with this, but the holidays are a helluva time.  I wanted to do a quick little review based on my experiences in my first year trading stocks.  The thing is, it really has been a very short year.  I signed up to the Investors Underground at the end of January, 2015.  So the first month or so was catching up on videos and watching the chat group to see how things went. Whoa!  So much information to absorb.  It really can be a daunting experience.  My suggestion is to just keep your mouth (keyboard?) shut and pay attention.  When you are in a classroom you can’t learn anything if you are running your mouth.  The same applies here.  If I was in a room with Bill Gates or Warren Buffet I wouldn’t be talking their ear off.  I’d be...

Merry Christmas 2015!

Merry Christmas 2015!

I don’t really give a fuck what your religion is, I’m going to go ahead and wish you a Merry Christmas.  I’ll also hope you enjoy whatever other celebrations your culture may have around this time.  I love this time of year.  Food that never ends.  Excuses for me to drink as much as I always do.  Unseasonably warm weather.  Ummmm…not sure about that last one.  Whatever.  I also love all the Christmas specials on TV right now.  Particularly… What a great Christmas movie.  It always reminds me of this time of year.  Anyways, my wife was on the east coast with her family until boxing day.  I worked until the 25th at 7am so we are doing a delayed family dinner in Toronto tonight.  So, I invited a buddy over on Christmas and I made a...

Why I Have Been M.I.A.

Why I Have Been M.I.A.

Hello all!  It has been a loooong time between trades for me.  I can honestly say that in well over two weeks I have probably looked at the markets for one hour.  Most of this is because I was in Punta Cana, DR for a week.  The few days prior to that, I was already in vacation mode and trying to get things done around the house.  The reason for the Dominican trip was because a buddy decided to get married down there.  I was lucky enough to be a groomsman for him.  Here is a shot of my New York partners in crime on scene in the Dominican. We took full advantage of the “all-inclusive” policy and drank our faces off every day.  I’m not talking about normal, Toronto drinking.  I’m talking about 35 degrees, in the pool, shit-can-hammered by...
