If you ever need to see stupidity then you can always pop over to FailBlog. I try to stop in there once a week to keep up. I have praised them before. No need for me to ramble on again. Here are a couple gems that were uploaded recently.

I will admit it. I read Twilight. OK, that’s not saying enough. I really LOVED this book. I get that this is more for teen girls than for guys my age. But I still enjoy watching Disney movies and damn it I love this book. That isn’t where this ends. I also plan on going to see the movie. I have been shy to admit this to people. Then I figured I owed it to the world. If you refuse to read this book and watch this movie just because teen girls like it then you are missing out. In case you live under a rock this book is about a young girl who falls in love with a vampire. He walks among humans and, along with his “family”, refuses to eat humans. They deal with usual challenges that would face the undead trying to date someone with heavy amounts of the expected teen angst. Then they run into a situation with some other vampires who don’t share a respect for human life. I didn’t know this was being made into a movie when I read it. I usually watch the movie first and then read the book. The book is always better, so this way the movie never disappoints me. I will go into the movie with an open mind and hopefully it doesn’t let me down. I sort of wish this is where the my story ends. I have more to confess. I loved the first book so much that I got into the second book of the series titled “New Moon” and finished it in no time. I like the way these are written. You get all the teen feelings and emotion covered off early. The back half of both these books just flies by with action. You can hardly catch your breath! What makes it so special? I would pick a few reasons. The characters are written well by Stephanie Meyer. I believe they are teens. They don’t sound like the pompous fuckers on Dawson’s Creek. The action is intense. Hey, I am a guy and I can’t handle a love story without a little blood thrown in. The last reason is pretty simple: vampires are cool. They are walking undead with super hero abilities and they drink blood. That’s awesome. The fact that we are dealing with vampires adds that level of mystery into the stories. Obviously this isn’t the first time this formula has been used. Buffy the Vampire Slayer is one of the most famous and popular shows created. The Buffy character falls in love with a vampire named Angel. Angel has a human soul and refuses to kill people. Sound familiar? I expected a complete ripoff when I read Twilight. Didn’t happen. This series stands on it’s own. I feel so much better now that I have admitted this to the world. I can now read these books in public. Check out the trailer for the movie below.

Once again, I bring to you a C&H comic from Explosm. I should just make this site all about them! Seriously, they are bringing the most consistent web comic I can find. XKCD has been good, but not great lately. I enjoy them a little better than a lot of you might. They have gone heavy on the geek side lately. That’s OK. That’s how they roll. White Ninja is always good, so maybe I will drop another one of those tomorrow. Obviously, I didn’t have time to trade last night. I was busy playing hockey and by the time I got home I figured “screw it!” Let’s see if something comes up for me later today!

New Reporters Getting Hurt

November 19, 2008 - No Trade

No trade for me last night. I started watching the charts around 6:30 and finally stopped around 9pm. There was a small downward movement early in the evening, but the Euro wasn’t ranging very much. It had only moved about 10 pips or so. And, it kept rebounding back and forth. So, I couldn’t really track any short trends. It felt too random. At points it was going against other currencies it should correlate with. No a recipe for success. I would have tried to get in just before 11pm again but I was way too tired. I was in bed and watching cartoons at that point. Tonight I wont be trading early in the evening because I have hockey. I may be able to catch some movement later at night though. As always, I will let you all know what happens!

Forex Trade - November 18, 2008

I thought I was going to avoid success last night. I first wrote this post when I quit for the night. After spending some time at the gym I jumped back in after 11pm and actually made a trade. For some reason, I was gun shy yesterday. I spotted 3 separate trading opportunities between 6:30pm and 7:45pm. Each time I sat there with my finger about to click the button and I just couldn’t do it. I usually am too trigger happy when I spot an opportunity and I don’t wait for my price. This time the market was gift wrapping me trades. Sometimes my price would hover for a while, but I still wouldn’t take it! After 7:45pm the Euro broke through my barriers and kept slipping down. I shut the charts down at that point. I thought I was done for the night. I went to the gym and cleared my head. I came back without any intention of trading. I just wanted to see what was happening. It was shortly after 11pm and I was a little slow with some calculations and I missed an upward movement. I decided to play a rebound and got into a sell trade at 11:21pm. I lost faith in it after a couple of minutes and bailed out when I got up 2 pips. It was probably a good choice because the price worked against me by about 10 pips after that. I probably would have exited at that point taking a pretty big loss. So, my timing was good to escape with money. It may be a smaller gain than I usually get, but I still make money. I think that makes me better than 98% of Wall Street.

One of the best things about blogging is that you can do it anywhere. I had this post already written, but am adding this little starting via my blackberry. See, you can have fun even when waiting for someone to get out of a doctors appointment! Anyways, it has been a few posts since I brought you a web comic. The tubes are filled with these gems. I should check out my usual favorites and bring you some good ones this week. Here is the first. This one from Explosm. C & H get caught talking about flavored bullets. Anytime a simple comic has graphic violence then it will find a home on my blog!

Gotta love Failblog. Most people wake up on a Sunday nice and hung over. Well, most of my friends wake up on Sundays hung over. Usually there are good stories from the Saturday night. Maybe someone got too drunk. Maybe someone even fell down. Every once in a while someone has something absolutely crazy/funny happen to them. Something that was an innocent situation that turned into hilarious disaster. What is absolutely rare is to have that moment of stupidity caught on camera. Not just the result. The actual moment. We have an example of that rare gem right here. This girl has (had) long hair. When she leans in at a dinner table for a picture she should probably be aware of where the candles are.
