Being single, I can appreciate how hard it is to meet people some times. Let’s face it, there is a lot of competition in the city. It really can come down to that first impression. That first pick up line you get out might be a “make or break” moment. It’s just unfortunate we have to be so crafty with our language in order to get some attention. I long for simpler times. Here is a quick look back at early man in the process of a pick up. They really knew how to rock a pick up line!

As you may know, I sometimes go through lovely bouts of insomnia. It is nowhere near the magnitude it used to be. I went a solid two years without sleeping. Those were interesting times! These days it only comes on for very brief time periods. Maybe a couple of days. Sometimes a week. My problem is my brain. It gets stuck with some momentum and it can’t turn off. I will sleep for an hour and then wake up in the middle of a coherent thought. It is as if I was resting and my brain kept right on going. Thank god for lorazepam! That miracle anxiety drug always did the trick for me. Calmed my brain down so I could sleep! The worst part about sleep problems isn’t actually missing the sleep. You get used to that. It becomes a great time to read, surf the net or watch informercials and order a brand new Slap-Chop. The biggest pain in the ass is people who give you the dumbest advice. ”You need to relax and lay down with a clear mind.” Really? That’s all I have to do? OH! Damn, if only I had tried that I certainly wouldn’t need drugs! If someone you know is dealing with sleep problems, please don’t try to help with suggestions they would have obviously tried. Just offer them an ear to complain. Sympathize with their situation. If you notice it affecting them you can definitely suggest they see a doctor and seek out professional opinions. For the love of god do not suggest a warm glass of milk to a 31 year old who hasn’t slept in 3 days. You had better get your crotch out of kicking distance if you do! In the spirit of making fun of everything in my life - here is a funny little cartoon I found of a guy who is suffering with insomnia…and the stupid things people say!

I know I haven’t been very personal with my posts lately. Unfortunately I am in the middle of a crazy-busy schedule. I barely have time to eat and sleep! Wednesday is supposed to be my day off where I can catch up on school work and study for tests. Instead, I will be going to the fire training grounds in Mississauga (near Toronto for you outside of the area). Although this fucks my schedule pretty hard, it is going to be pretty cool! We are going into the training buildings to do some search and rescue. They smoke the place out so you can’t even see your hand in front of your face and then get you to move around in teams doing rooms searches. It can get pretty tough with all the bunker gear and breathing apparatus. They also make you go through some confined spaces that are barely large enough to squeeze through so you need to remove your air pack while staying on air. This is definitely not something to do if you are claustrophobic. They run things like the military so it probably wont be a good idea to stop and take pictures, but I will see if I can snap a few pics off my blackberry after I am done. On Saturday we go back to the training grounds and do live fires! Now that will be really cool. Anyways, as a result of all this madness I really haven’t been looking into the charts. I know the EUR/USD has risen sharply over the last week so the timing works out for me. I don’t like these sharp rises because it usually means new highs are created in the evening hours. That isn’t good for my style. My robot is still trading though and I will let you know if he was able to recover from an absolute ass kicking he took on Friday. More details on that will come tomorrow. So, for today, I give you a comic from SMBC that is related to the life of a student….a student whose mom is Chuck Norris!
Ooooo…my poor Forex Robot got it’s ass kicked on Friday. I am down around 10% as a result of 3 horrible trades. Let’s see if it can recover at the start of next week. I will try to remain consistent and report the results on Wednesday. Other than that, not much else going on with me this weekend. I am just chillin’ at home. As usual, I have a lot of studying to do. Since it is Saturday, it seems appropriate to bring you another comic from SMBC. Enjoy!
Holy Shit! I didn’t post anything last night. I am sorry about that. I was completing an assignment, studying and working out. All the while I was looking after some animals, including my ever present monster named Chubbs. I really have to jam now because I will be late for school. Luckily, I have a relevant web comic about that from XKCD! Happy Friday everyone.
For a lot of you today is President’s day. For some of you north of the border, like me, you are enjoying Family day. And for the rest of you suckers, today is Monday. In light of those holidays I probably won’t be trading today. Something will have to look really good to me later in the evening to convince me to trade. So, in my effort to continue to add value to your visits, I bring you a good dose of religion. This comic is courtesy of Sinfest. This strip caused my first visit to Sinfest and I was very pleased to find some hilarious comics in their archives! There is always something to be gained by not trading. You obviously gain a lack of exposure to loss. You can’t lose anything when you don’t trade. And, when you consider what happened to the market, a 0% loss would have looked good for most of us. For me, I gain time to find hilarious things on the Internet. If I am not going to make money, I might as well find something to laugh at! Enjoy.

Good old XKCD. They can save a rather boring day without even trying. I probably wont be trading today, unless I see something near the end of the normal market day. There are a lot of news announcements and that scares the shit out of me. I thought about trading last night but the Euro broke through one of my lower barriers and I wasn’t sure if I was trying to get sucked into a bad trade, so I walked away. Anyways, I am lucky enough to spend my day running out to grab books for school and dealing with a crack in my windshield. I might take a before pic and then another shot after it is repaired to let you all know how it went. Oh yeah, back to XKCD. If you haven’t heard, Windows 7 will be the next major OS from Microsoft. The idea is that this thing is going to be a massive “SORRY” for us having to deal with Vista. Although I don’t hate Vista, I don’t like it either. It assumes you are a fucking retard and tries to ask you 42 times if you want to do something as simple as sharing folders on a network. I also have to download the equivalent of a couple of movies every week in order to keep the damn thing up to date with patches and security fixes. So, I try to use either Windows XP, any MAC OS or Ubuntu. I just don’t want to have to deal with my computer asking me 400 questions when all I want to do is go online to write a simple blog post. It’s like Microsoft went with an entire OS based on that annoying Microsoft Word paperclip guy. Little fucker always questions what you are doing. So, XKCD has a comic based on what it sees Windows 7 offering. I think it is a definite improvement.
As you can probably tell, I didn’t make a trade last night. I was at a friends place watching a hockey game and the baseball game. One of the great things about my style of trading is that it is not too intensive. I really can do it anywhere. I used his computer to pull up my charts. The spread stayed around 3 pips for the evening so I didn’t even bother doing any work on barriers. Fuck it. It aint happening. Still, a 30 pip week is pretty good! Anyways, I thought I would bring you another gem of a comic from XKCD. I actually have experience with this situation! I was playing Scrabble with the girlfriend and her family when I had the ability to spell something seriously rude. Uhhh..soooo tempting! In the end, I avoided it and probably just spelled the word “it” or something crappy like that. Oh well.

I just find the below comic really funny. I got it from QuestionableContent. They have some pretty cool stuff on that site, I definitely suggest you check it out. Now, some people are going to email me claiming the comic is slightly sexist. It is. Who cares. Just shut up and enjoy it! You can click on the image to view the full size version. If your browser still opens it up looking small, then just click on the new image again…it will increase…trust me.
My last day of vacation is upon us. In this time I would love to be able to reflect on the good times I had. My only problem with doing that is that I don’t remember everything! Not to worry, I am back to work for 4 days before going on vacation for another week. This time I hope to stay a little more low key. I plan to continue doing my evening trading as best I can. I am rambling. For this last day off I figured I would post something fun. I can always count on the web comic XKCD for a good chuckle. Below, you will find an image that perfectly explains the word “frustration.”
