How To Wall Mount A Flat Screen TV

As I mentioned earlier, I spent yesterday evening at my friends new apartment.  Our job: to wall mount his 46 inch Samsung LCD TV.  Don’t ask, of course it is 1080P!  That isn’t the point though.  Neither of us had ever done this before, so it definitely became a blog-worthy task!  Here are some of the photos of how we did this.  Obviously I am not going to show you absolutely every step.  And, most of our time was spent drinking beer and you should know how to do that by now!

Step 1:  Use something to help visualize the height you want this mounted at.  Oh, and get written permission from anyone you plan to have in a picture.  The cat didn’t approve so it’s identity has been hidden for legal purposes.

*

Step 2:  Drill some holes in your nice walls.  This is Andrew doing some damage with the oldest drill I have ever seen.

*

Step 3:  Have some brown guy point out every mistake you are making when trying to screw in the brackets.

*

Step 4:  Drink a beer and admire your mounting brackets.  Oh, and leave the meat tenderizer in the shot so people know you don’t have a hammer.

*

Step 5:  Write something funny in the drywall dust.  I went with Poo.  But, feel free to be creative!

*
Step 6:  Cut yourself on the drill bit because you left it on the floor.  No job is complete until blood has been spilled.
*
Step 7:  Very CAREFULLY mount the TV to the brackets that are now securely screwed into the wall.  Make sure that the brackets can support the weight of the TV.
*
Step 8:  Sit back and enjoy your newly mounted TV.  I suggest watching something in HD.  I don’t give a rats-ass about tennis, but it was the only thing on in HD worthy of being watched.
