I love it when people I know start blogs! It usually means that a little bit of my awesomeness has rubbed off on them. Thankfully, none of my randomness rubbed off. Their blogs always seem to have a specific purpose. That brings us to my buddy, Grant. He moved from Toronto to the left coast quite a while back. Recently he has found that he orgasms quite easily while taking pictures. Although I don’t quite share his fetish, I must admit to being impressed by his shots. Check out his blog HERE. Below are a few samples of some of his pics. If you are like Grant then I suggest you…ummm…aim away from the computer!

It has been a while since I hyped a blog…in which I know the blogger. A lot of people (like Me!) have blogs simply as a place to throw up random crap. It is a central spot for people to follow all the nothing that we do in our day to day lives. Every once in a while, someone starts a blog that is something special. A personal journey that they are willing to share. My friend Fiona recently started her blog - Phat to Fit to Fabulous. This blog is all about her personal journey to lose weight. So far, I am absolutely blown away! The honesty in her writing is incredible. We really do get to share in the complete experience of what she is dealing with, both positive and negative. This one might actually hit closer to home for me than most people. Maybe some of you didn’t realize that I wasn’t always so slim. I used to be a much bigger boy! I was around 195lbs in high school. I did play football and hockey and probably could bench press more than I can now. But, I definitely had more fat than I needed as well. After I stopped the sports I gained another 20lbs and hit the scales at 215! That was a completely unhealthy weight for me and it was fueled by beer and chicken wings about 4 nights a week. I decided a change needed to be made. I started to read about nutrition and taught myself how to read labels. I also began some weight and cardio training. This combination exploded for me and I quickly dropped down to around 165lbs. For the last 10 years I have managed to keep my weight anywhere between 160 - 185. The key for me was to only make changes I was willing to make for the rest of my life. I couldn’t do a diet because that is temporary. Doing this allowed me to maintain that change. Oh, and I always allowed myself cheat days! What good is life if you can’t go out and drink a few beers?! The difference between myself and Fiona is that I was too shy and embarrassed to be public about what I was doing. I didn’t even really talk about it with my friends. I just did everything quietly. For someone to be willing to blog about something that is a sensitive topic is inspiring. I wish I had her strength! I strongly suggest you all check out Phat to Fit to Fabulous regularly and support Fiona in her goals! Maybe her story will inspire you to make a change you have been thinking about.

I have been waiting for this day for quite a while. Mikesdotcom is back in action. This is the blog of one of my buddies - I am sure you can figure out his name. He registered this domain name back when the Internet was a series of chalk boards tied together with twine. I used to work with him at one of the 4 million jobs I have held in my adult life. For a long time he was only using the thing for personal use. Oh how I wanted to steal this domain name from him! Since he wouldn’t give it to me (I didn’t offer him anything, of course) he started to make use of it. He now has a regularly updated blog running. It will definitely be a site you should check out. He just better make sure to renew that domain or I will be there to grab it!
