• I am finally done my first semester!  I had my medical exams on Friday and Saturday and I kicked the shit out of both of them.  I got 86 on my written exam on the Friday and 86 on the practical exam on Saturday.  That practical exam was pretty tough.  Quite a few people failed.  You walk into a room and have to do a medical scenario that the instructors cooked up.  My final average in that class was a 91.  I really didn’t care about having a high average, I just wanted to pass.  Now I can look forward to relaxing for a couple of weeks before my 2nd semester starts.
• A friend has been having some bad luck when it comes to vehicles.  First her minivan was stolen from out front of her building.  As a replacement, my mom gave up her old Neon for my friend to use.  We just transferred the ownership and 3 days later it broke down in the middle of the road!  So, she spent yesterday afternoon backing up traffic in Toronto.  I let her use my Jeep while we get that Neon repaired.  With her luck I can pretty much expect that it too will get stolen or fall apart or something!  I am sure some day she will be able to smile at all this misfortune.
• Something my friend told me about today was a new fine that is being enforced in Switzerland.  It appears that many people who hike the Swiss Alps enjoy doing so in the buck.  Yup…naked hiking!  I guess this is such a huge problem that they actually needed to create a specific law and fine for this.  Get caught running up the mountains in your birthday suit and you should be prepared to fork out $176.  There goes my vacation plans..
• I always try to bring you something fun with every post.  Here it is.  Why don’t I see things like this at my school?

• Hell week is finally over for me!  I just finished writing 5 final exams in 4 days.  I have to admit that I was completely burned out.  I had absolutely no desire to do any studying and I am pretty sure my marks on those exams will reflect that.  I walked into most classes with anywhere from a 90% - 95% average.  I am pretty sure those numbers will drop into the 80’s once they have added everything up.  Oh well.  When you are as awesome as me you can find it hard to be motivated.  I still have one major exam next week in my medical class.  On that weekend I  have to go in to do a practical exam.  It’s kinda cool, they have actors come in and they create a scenario that I will have to be the first responder in.
• In other news it’s about fucking time that the weather started to warm up!  I checked my archives and I was golfing on April 14th last year with Johal.  Then on the 19th it was hot enough to wear shorts and we went golfing at Nobleton Lakes.  Tomorrow looks to be really nice and I am dying to do something summer-ish.  I might get some swings in at a driving range when I am done my morning class.  If I do something cool I will be sure to get you more details.  To be honest, I am looking forward to some boring days with school winding down for the semester.

I know I haven’t been very personal with my posts lately.  Unfortunately I am in the middle of a crazy-busy schedule.  I barely have time to eat and sleep!  Wednesday is supposed to be my day off where I can catch up on school work and study for tests.  Instead, I will be going to the fire training grounds in Mississauga (near Toronto for you outside of the area).  Although this fucks my schedule pretty hard, it is going to be pretty cool!  We are going into the training buildings to do some search and rescue.  They smoke the place out so you can’t even see your hand in front of your face and then get you to move around in teams doing rooms searches.  It can get pretty tough with all the bunker gear and breathing apparatus.  They also make you go through some confined spaces that are barely large enough to squeeze through so you need to remove your air pack while staying on air.  This is definitely not something to do if you are claustrophobic.  They run things like the military so it probably wont be a good idea to stop and take pictures, but I will see if I can snap a few pics off my blackberry after I am done.  On Saturday we go back to the training grounds and do live fires!  Now that will be really cool.  Anyways, as a result of all this madness I really haven’t been looking into the charts.  I know the EUR/USD has risen sharply over the last week so the timing works out for me.  I don’t like these sharp rises because it usually means new highs are created in the evening hours.  That isn’t good for my style.  My robot is still trading though and I will let you know if he was able to recover from an absolute ass kicking he took on Friday.  More details on that will come tomorrow.  So, for today, I give you a comic from SMBC that is related to the life of a student….a student whose mom is Chuck Norris!

Enough of this learning nonsense.  To hell with Forex.  Let’s see more cartoons!  I can’t go more than a few days with bringing you something fun from the worlds best web comic sites.  This is another one from Explosm.  Here we have something all you office workers are completely familiar with: casual Friday.  The one day a week where you can where jeans and t shirts.  I never really had to make use of this day.  I wore whatever the hell I wanted all the time.  Hell, I worked at home some days and didn’t even wear clothes!  Now that I am a student you would think I would have a similar setup.  No dice.  My firefighter pre service course requires us to wear a uniform.  We wear station wear to class.  And, there is no such thing as casual Friday.  I am fairly certain that would get my ass kicked out!  See what happens when we take the idea of casual Friday to new levels…

Today was day 1 back to school.  I won’t lie, I got my ass handed to me in the gym.  As you probably know, I am doing a firefighter pre-service course designed to prepare you to get a job as a firefighter.  We spent day 1 doing some practical work including getting our bunker gear and learning how to get all of our stuff on properly.  Less than an hour of this day was spent in the gym.  Wow.  Our instructor knows her stuff.  Yours truly definitely needs to up his intensity of his training.  I need to get into a running routine as well.  I normally try to avoid running in favor of other cardio exercises, but I can’t get away with that anymore.  I need to do some real running out there.  I definitely have some big areas to improve and I will let you all know how I progress.  As I mentioned the other day my blog posting frequency will remain at a minimum of 1 post per day, but I will only be throwing it up late in the day.  That probably only threw you guys off this one day, as I didn’t have anything up for your Monday during working hours.  Sorry!  So, today I am not sure if I will trade, but I will take a look.  If I do make a trade I will throw it online tomorrow.  What I can offer you today is something pretty cool.  This is a montage of every Simpsons couch gag.  I thought this video would go on forever, but thankfully they sped it up.  It’s pretty cool to see the evolution of the show.  Enjoy!
