Just finished writing my last exam for a while. My brain is cooked. I have nothing left. So, here is something that doesn’t require too much thought. It has been a long time since I posted a Zero Punctuation video on here. I looked back and found the New Years episode that gave out the awards for 2009. Obviously, these are not really awards but another way to make fun of horrible games. Enjoy!

My busy schedule continues, so I don’t seem to have the time to come up with thoughtful posts. Wait a minute, I never come up with thoughtful posts. I write about drinking and the stupid things people do. OK, so I am pretty much doing what I always do then! This weekend is a little different as I have an aptitude test for a local fire department on Sunday. That means no drinking for me on Saturday . Other than school I have been busy with my social schedule lately. I know, a real tough problem to have! I was going through some pictures on Facebook and noticed a couple that were completely awesome! My buddy Chris made a jack-o-lantern on Halloween. That’s not what’s awesome. What’s awesome is that it looks like the fucking Death Star! Check it out below. My friend Grant also posted a pretty cool pic. His was an artistic expression of frustration. In this particular case, the frustration was with his Blackberry Pearl Flip phone. Last time he visited Toronto we went out for a drink and he bitched for a solid 5 minutes about his phone. Finally, a few months later, I guess he had enough. Check out the awesome results below. At the very end of this post I always try to give you something random. This is a video of a bulldog playing a video game! Seriously, we have probably all seen videos of bulldogs skateboarding - but this guy takes it to new levels! Since I am going to be lazy this weekend I should be able to post something. Have a great weekend!

Video games have moved from being toys to being legitimate media products for the masses. One of the best ways this is proven is by the way in which video games are advertised. Back in the day (think NES) you would only find ads in comics or magazines devoted to video games. You would only see television ads during children’s programming. Today you find print, web and television ads splattered everywhere and at all times. Some of the ads are pretty dramatic. The reason for posting this is that I recently saw the ad for Halo 3: ODST. Pretty freakin’ cool. It got me thinking about how seriously they take this stuff. Check out the examples of both old and modern video game ads.

I haven’t posted anything to do with Forex in a while. There is a reason: I haven’t done any trading! I have been busy most evenings and just don’t have the time to sit in front of the charts. Tonight would have been ideal but I have already ruled out trading because of a large drop on the EUR/USD that takes any of my usual ranges out of play. Anytime the currency hits a new high or a new low then I am sitting back and waiting for another day time to trade! The spread is also at 3.5 pips and that is way too high considering that I have such small pip goals. So, I look to other things to entertain me. How about video games? It has been a while since I have posted a Zero Punctuation review. So, here is a gem. This could be one of the most bitter and angry reviews ever. I have to say that I agree with him for the most part. I hate the Sims games. Why would I spend my free time telling some little character to work and eat and sleep…that’s all shit I have to do! I want to do things I won’t ever get to do in real life like score a goal in the NHL or car jack a guy after beating a cop to death with a bat. Perhaps I have said too much. Check out the review for yourself.
Here I am enjoying a nice relaxing long weekend. While I was tooling around on my new Macbook I remembered something huge. 4 Years ago, when I had my old 12 inch iBook, I bought a copy of Sid Meier’s Civilizations 3. It’s a fairly boring, yet addictive strategy game in which you build up your civilization and compete against others on a world map. After a quick search I realized I still had the disk! I threw that bad boy in knowing that my current Macbook could easily handle the basic graphics this game produced. Hell, the thing was from 2005! My Macbook is running OS X 10.5.7, has an Intel core 2 duo processor running at 2 GHz and has 2 gigs of DD3 RAM. It can run this game 10 times over and still have enough power to edit some video. I was a little shocked after the install when I went to run the game. I was presented with the below warning. I had to read it a few times, laughing the whole time, to actually believe what it said. It’s like getting a warning that your Ferrari doesn’t have the power of a Pinto. I just ignored the warning and everything works just fine. I am lucky that every time I run the game I am presented with the same joke that never gets old for a geek like me. Here is the screen shot for the rest of you. Enjoy!
Mario has been around for as long as video games have from my perspective. No matter what, the little bugger doesn’t die. Maybe he just doesn’t run into the right type of enemies. This video is a pretty cool display of what would happen if Mario, and all his buddies tried to invade a Spartan base from Halo. This is the 2nd video in this series and it is pretty well done. It is a little long, but the action sequence is cool/hilarious. I only wish I could use the Mario characters when playing multi-player Halo. Enjoy!

Most of us have played Mortal Kombat. And, you probably remember my posting about the fatality montage. Here is a video from PwnOrDie that features something about Mortal Kombat I have never seen. Apparently, the Emperor of Outworld is a freak. The dude didn’t just want you to “finish him.” He wanted you to do much, much more. Check it out:
No Forex trading last night. Things just did not look good. The EUR/USD have moved down considerably during the day and we were trading near the low. When I got on in the evening things were just rising from that low. The candles were large and there was no clear range. I set some weak barriers to see if things would even out. They didn’t and my barriers were broken. So, I walked away. No point in forcing a trade when there are rough waters! So, I will show you something from my man Tiger. I know I have blogged about Tiger Woods before- both the video game and the man. He just does such cool stuff that I can’t help but pass it on for you. Check out this latest ad. Here, he manages to get a square peg into a round hole!

This video from MasterOfHyrule is awesome. If I had this thing back in the day I could have saved a million hours of video game playing. The games had such horrible endings that he felt he should capture them all in a montage. It is scary how bad these are. I actually remember playing a lot of these. He has a 2nd and 3rd edition of these videos. You should check them out!

I recently blogged about some cool (and local) cover art on EA’s FIFA video game. They now have a pretty cool ad for the Tiger Woods ‘09 video game. This is very creative, especially the way it starts. Check it out!
