C & H: Fireman vs Stripper

This is new.  A web comic that actually has some relevance to me.  As you all should know, I am back in school doing a firefighter pre service course.  It is 3 semesters of full time school to prepare you for a career as a firefighter.  That covers half of this C & H comic.  About the strippers…hmmm…well…I like strippers!  As for an update with everything else going on: I haven’t traded the last couple days because I have been busy either studying or playing hockey.  I may not be able to trade tonight either as I have an essay to write and a test to study for.  FOCK…I thought I was in school to learn how to put water on fire!  If I do manage to squeeze in a trade then you will be the first to know.  Anyways, here is that comic:

Internet Dating Stigma

I always wondered why there is such a stigma about Internet dating.  The Internet is the most prominent form of communication for everyone.  Yet, if we meet someone online we prefer to lie about how we met them.  Somehow it is more socially acceptable to say you met when you were wasted at a bar.  Weird.  Now, I actually did meet my girlfriend at a bar.  BUT, if I met her online I wouldn’t have a problem saying so.  Think about it.  If you meet online at least you get to see some pictures and talk to the person first.  When I went on my first date with my girlfriend I couldn’t even remember what she looked like!  I was pretty hammered when we talked at the bar so she could have been ugly!  Lucky for me she was gorgeous and things worked out.  Since you can never trust what people say, you need a chart to decipher what they really mean.  Below is a chart/comic that clears everything up.  So, according to this, I met my girl through friends.  How did you meet your significant other?

XKCD: Contingency Plan

A lazy Saturday morning and I really don’t have anything special to talk about.  My bro is in town from Florida so a large part of my weekend is spent doing things with the family.  So, thanks to XKCD, I don’t have to think much about this blog post.  This is pretty ingenious.  You know…just in case.

C & H: Casual Friday

Enough of this learning nonsense.  To hell with Forex.  Let’s see more cartoons!  I can’t go more than a few days with bringing you something fun from the worlds best web comic sites.  This is another one from Explosm.  Here we have something all you office workers are completely familiar with: casual Friday.  The one day a week where you can where jeans and t shirts.  I never really had to make use of this day.  I wore whatever the hell I wanted all the time.  Hell, I worked at home some days and didn’t even wear clothes!  Now that I am a student you would think I would have a similar setup.  No dice.  My firefighter pre service course requires us to wear a uniform.  We wear station wear to class.  And, there is no such thing as casual Friday.  I am fairly certain that would get my ass kicked out!  See what happens when we take the idea of casual Friday to new levels…

XKCD - I’m An Idiot

My friend Owen forced me to check this comic out, and blog about it.  Nah, he just reminded me that SMBC doesn’t have the only awesome comics out there.  XKCD has been producing some awesome little sketches for a long time.  This one is cool.  We live in an age of amazing technology that makes the most unlikely communication possible.  Unfortunately, there is no substitute for common sense.  This one hit close to home as well.  A long time ago I worked with someone who complained that he tried to email, IM, call and page me.  He was livid that I was not available for contact.  What he failed to do was walk the 20 feet from his desk to my desk to discover I was busy talking to someone.  So much technology, so few brain cells.

SMBC: Survival

Here is something almost completely mindless - but incredibly funny.  This is another comic from what is fast becoming a favorite site of mine, Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal.  Here is the question: if you were stranded on an island with only a time machine, what would you do?  This is probably the most creative solution I have ever seen.  Short sighted?  Absolutely!  But still very funny.  Enjoy!

SMBC: Doing Things Ironically

OK, I wanted to take before and after pics of my windshield repair yesterday.  Unfortunately the pics didn’t really show well.  Taking a picture of glass is harder than I thought it would be.  Anyways, I was completely impressed with the guy who did the repair.  I called at 9am and he came to my house to do the repair at noon!  You just don’t see service like that anymore.  The best thing is that it only cost $95 after tax.  And that was for a 7 inch crack.  This won’t help anyone outside of Toronto, but for those of you who are in the GTA and need your windshield repaired then I strongly suggest you go to Auto Glass Canada.  Since it is Saturday, I might as well bring you something from Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal.  I was looking through the archives on the site and they seem to have some good relationship humor going on.  You should definitely check it out.  Enjoy your Saturday!

C & H: Can’t Get A Song Out Of My Head

No trade for me this morning.  I have plans to go out and I don’t have time to watch the charts.  I am looking at them right now and I don’t see any pattern.  I could just enter a trade but it would be a total guess.  I might as well throw all my money in a poker game if that was how I traded.  Anyways, I have another video of Chubbs that I still have to throw together.  I am hoping to have that done sometime soon.  For today, you get a C & H cartoon.  This is just kinda funny.  Not only that, it moves.  That makes it twice as awesome.  Enjoy!

SMBC: Never Date A Magician

I was planning on bringing something incredibly thought provoking for you this morning.  Unfortunately, I am about to lose my work computer for a good part of the day.  My co-worker screwed her laptop up and is waiting on some repairs.  I can either loan her mine, or do work.  I figure I will let her use my comp while I play some Nintendo DS.  So, I figured I would quickly throw this post together so that you have a reason to come back!  There are many people that you should consider not dating.  A cop, because you might get some extra tickets.  A ninja, they could kill you before you have finished breaking up with them.  I never saw the danger in breaking up with a magician until now…

SMBC: Superfriends

Happy Sunday everyone! Another day and another dumping of snow in Toronto. Our bulldog is not happy with all the road salts and is trying his best to avoid going outside. I hear his pain. I am going to try to avoid going outside as well. Although, it might be hard as I am meeting a friend downtown for lunch. Anyways, I should probably get moving so here is a comic from Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal to get your day going. Hopefully, the furthest you are going is to the couch to watch football or movies.
