Most of you are back at work this morning.  For some of you, this is the first day at work for 2009.  SUCKERS!  I am kidding.  But, I am not at work.  As I mentioned earlier, I will be starting school next week at this time.  So this week is spent just tying up some odds and ends.  Like, I need to buy something to haul my books around.  Seriously, the last time I needed one of those was high school!  Anyways, on to other matters.  Will I be trading anytime soon?  I would love to, but the market movements will determine my timing.  I definitely won’t have time tonight.  Canada is playing Sweden for gold in the World Junior Hockey Championships.  This is an  awesome hockey tournament played every year at this time.  I will be watching the game at a friends place.  That is definitely not a time to be looking at Forex charts.  But, you never know!  I might try some day time trading later in the week.  I don’t trust myself to jump into that right at the start of the year.  So, what can I offer you today?  I thought about giving you something totally mindless.  Something to get your mind of work.  Then I thought about being more helpful than that.  How about something that is kinda funny, but also provides you valuable information.  I got this from XKCD and it is an extremely handy chart!  This is especially true for those of you in the States.

uhhhh, last night turned out to be a rough one for me.  I am not going to say I drank too much…but I did get a little sick!  But, that was just at the end of the night right before I went to bed.  I think the sparkling wine threw me for a loop.  As a result I am going to put in zero effort to this post and just throw in an XKCD comic.

WOW, it is Christmas eve already!  I wish everyone out there a very merry Christmas.  And, if you don’t celebrate Christmas…well…I still wish you a merry one.  I certainly don’t think you should take offense to it.  I have had people wish me a happy Chanukah and I am still happy to get that sentiment.  Anyways, I am only online for a short while today.  I have to travel close to Niagara, Ontario to see the girlfriend at her parents place.  I then steal my dog back and go home to do Christmas with the family.  I have wished you a merry Christmas and now I will let XKCD wish you.

Another day that I couldn’t trade.  Actually, I might avoid trading today as well.  I have a puppy and a hockey game and a job…oh man!  I turned into an adult overnight!!!  This week has just been particularly crazy.  I would have traded last night but I was meeting friends downtown.  So, instead of making money I spent money.  Tis the season!  We had a nice snow storm last night, so a 30 minute trip from downtown turned into 1.5 hours.  The girlfriend walked the dog this morning and apparently he was jumping all over the snow and trying to eat it.  I will try to get that on camera tonight…assuming there is still snow on the ground.  Since I can’t bring you anything Forex or puppy related I will do the next best thing: talk about flow charts.  This continues my trend about straying as far from topic as possible.  Flow charts can be tricky.  Here is a flow chart that teaches you how to follow flow charts.  Thank XKCD for this one!

Yeah, I didn’t want to end the week with a bad trade so I stayed out of things again last night.  Once Tuesday hit I was pretty sure that I would just skip the week and let things settle down after some massive losses on the Dow and TSX.  I am also cranky because I didn’t sleep a wink last night.  I managed to injure my wrist a while ago and I think I aggravated it yesterday…damn thing was killing me!  Oh well.  I am hoping things calm down next week and I can get into some trades.  I might have to be bold and just jump in with both feet.  Let’s see how gutsy I feel.  Instead of a trade I bring you a really clever comic from XKCD.  This one speaks so much truth it’s insane!  I am sure every girl has guy “friends” that they know wants more but they are willing to hang out and undermine any other guy she dates until the timing is right for them to pounce.  This is just a funny way of coming clean about that plan of attack.

Once again, I decided not to trade last night.  I didn’t even fire up the charts.  I may actually stay away for the rest of the week.  The charts didn’t look to bad when I look at them this morning.  It looks like the EUR/USD was moving in a manageable range.  Since I didn’t even look into it last night, I am not sure what the spread was like.  If liquidity wasn’t there then that would have stopped me from trading anyways.  I have been giving more thought to creating a detailed report on how I trade.  It would be nice to see someone take my strategy and do even better than I do.  I will just have to figure out how to structure the lessons.  So much of this is now “feel” and I need to write up some rules that I used to follow when I was new at this.  How much would I charge for this?  Absolutely nothing!  It would be free.  I am not here to sell you an ebook.  My strategy is simple so it isn’t anything that you couldn’t figure out on your own anyways.  It might just take you a while.  I will get to work on that and keep you updated on my progress.  In the meantime here is an XKCD comic that actually is related to Forex!

I have been so busy checking out C&H comics that I ignored XKCD!  Thankfully my buddy Owen keeps me up to date.  He advised that this would be something fun for a blog post.  I couldn’t argue.  We have some wicked confusion and innuendo going on here.  Oh yeah, I got some emails about my trading seeming to slow down.  Yes, it has.  The idea is that I don’t trade every day because of opportunity.  Sometimes the market isn’t moving enough in the evening to give me a good pick.  Sometimes it is moving too much.  I still check things out each day but sometimes I just don’t see a reason to risk.  95% of people in this market blow out there accounts in 3 months.  I make money and have been doing so for a while.  All this while the markets have shed almost half their value.  I think I am doing the smart thing by being cautious.  I will be doing some things different when the new year starts so I may open up room for trading during the day.  I certainly hope that happens because the pip spread is only 1 pip then!  I could make some good wins considering I have such a low target.  In the meantime - I enjoy comics and other funny shit on the Internet.  I might as well have some fun when I am not trading!

Once again, I bring to you a C&H comic from Explosm.  I should just make this site all about them!  Seriously, they are bringing the most consistent web comic I can find.  XKCD has been good, but not great lately.  I enjoy them a little better than a lot of you might.  They have gone heavy on the geek side lately.  That’s OK.  That’s how they roll.  White Ninja is always good, so maybe I will drop another one of those tomorrow.  Obviously, I didn’t have time to trade last night.  I was busy playing hockey and by the time I got home I figured “screw it!”  Let’s see if something comes up for me later today!

Wow, it’s funny to watch CNN now that the election is over.  All that drama, all the buildup…and now it is done.  I almost don’t know what to do with myself.  Thank god I have a life!  That is why I find this XKCD comic so funny.  I can see a lot of people thinking like this!

Another day, another web comic.  I found this one at Explosm.  I am a little slow this morning and it actually took me a 2nd look to figure out what happened.  Then I actually gave it my full attention and laughed.  Maybe it is far too geeky for you to find funny.  If so, go to hell.  This blog isn’t for you anyways!  Oh wait.  Maybe you are into Forex but not into geeky comics.  Weird.  Hmmm.  OK…only go to hell if you aren’t into either subjects!
