Alright, I know I am extremely late to wish you all a Happy Valentine’s Day. I figure that if you have someone you love then you were probably busy spending time with them, so you really shouldn’t have been checking out my blog. If you were alone then you probably didn’t want me reminding your lonely ass about the empty life you live. I spent Valentine’s evening drinking with some friends at a bar downtown Toronto. Things got a little hazy and I ended up in some persons living room wearing pants that didn’t belong to me. Weird. Well, weird for anyone but me. Sadly, this kind of thing seems to happen fairly often for me! I spent all of the holiday Monday recovering from the damage I did to my liver. This week is all about trying to get back into some form of routine. School is done. My vacation is over. It is time to get back to reality. I recently accepted a job offer with a tech company in Toronto. I start my job on Monday. This will be my career until I get on with a fire department in the area. I am pretty excited about making money again. I haven’t done that since 2008! That pretty much gets you up to date on my world. Here are two Valentine’s Day related funnies that I think you will enjoy. The first is from FailBlog and features a bunch of wedding proposals that are…well…complete fails! When asking someone to marry you in front of a large group of people I would think you should make sure beforehand that the answer would be a yes. After that you get the Valentine’s Day comic from XKCD. God I love geek humor! Since I am largely abusive to you, my faithful blog readers, I think today I should be nice. I actually love you all….except Kevin Gray. I hate you Kevin. I hate you with every muscle in my elegant, brown body!

Anyone who live in Canada enjoyed a nice holiday weekend. So, this is sort of like a Sunday night post. One of the best parts about turkey day is all the leftovers. I managed to get 4 leftover turkey meals into me today. I also managed to take 3 naps - which is probably why I am posting this at around midnight.
This weekend was filled with some interesting times. I went out for lunch on Saturday and actually ordered the fish. I usually plan on ordering fish and always make a last minute switch to steak. As a result of this my penis fell off. No, it really didn’t.
I went to a bar I haven’t been to in a long time. I drank my body weight in beer - which is a place I have been to many times.
A plan for late night Chinese food was derailed by some crazy drama. For once, this didn’t involve me in any way. Note: shawarma makes an excellent backup food plan when the dead-beat father of some random girls baby is at your favourite late night Chinese restaurant and she is driving you around for some reason. Don’t worry, that isn’t supposed to make sense. I was there and I still don’t get it.
Spending quality time in bed was definitely needed after a late night food adventure. My choice of shows to watch was How I Met Your Mother: Season 4. Barney get’s even more awesome! I highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys high levels of awesomeness. If you don’t like the show…well…you probably suck and I don’t want you reading this blog. Seriously, stop reading. I can do nothing for you.
The Toronto Maple Leafs, with their improved defense corps, can’t seem to play anything that even resembles defense. It’s a very interesting problem. Since the opposite result is happening from our efforts then we should just go with that. They should try to throw a game. Lay down on the ice and let the other team play. Sure it’s a bold plan, but it really can’t get any worse! That seems to be what the guys are doing anyways. At least this way they can prove an ability to execute a plan for a full 60 minutes. And there you have it. My weekend summary. Since I always try to add value to your visit - here is a cartoon that has nothing to do with anything.

Again, my posting frequency sucks this week. Good news is on the way though. I am done my last practical training day tomorrow. Although it is fun to be in live fires it is tiring and has pretty much consumed my days. I do have a good post to throw up about trading…or…not trading. It is definitely relevant because I am now the most inactive trader in the world. I sometimes have to look into my own archives just to see when I last made trades. Again, I am hoping to improve the frequency of that as soon as school starts to die down as well. Anyways, here are two things for you to enjoy. One is a funny comic from XKCD. I haven’t posted any of their stuff in a while so this is long overdue. The next is video is a drunk Squirrel. Yup…he is completely wasted. It’s pretty funny!
Sorry that I have been so busy lately. I am in the midst of finals week at school. I just wrote 3 exams in 2 days and I have a couple more before the week is over. So, you get a webcomic. The only thing that is relevant is that the guy is named Mike. That was enough for me! I am studying tomorrow so I should have time to bring you something more fun.
Hey everyone. I am running around all over the place doing long weekend type things. I will have some good stuff to post later in the weekend when I am back home. Until then you can enjoy this comic!
Holy Shit! I didn’t post anything last night. I am sorry about that. I was completing an assignment, studying and working out. All the while I was looking after some animals, including my ever present monster named Chubbs. I really have to jam now because I will be late for school. Luckily, I have a relevant web comic about that from XKCD! Happy Friday everyone.
Hello all. I am sorry for the extremely late post. I finished the week of school and am now officially on spring break! So, I don’t have much to offer you that is relevant to either Forex or fire fighting. Instead, here is an XKCD comic about the Amazon Kindle that I just finshed bitching about…

This comic is really cool to me. I actually did a project on computer/network security when I was in school. Most people would take this topic and focus on things like passwords, firewalls, encryption, etc. I took an entirely different approach. I suggested that companies shouldn’t bother wasting time spending money with hardware/software security when their physical security and practices were lacking. One big point of this is password complexity and expiry. I am sure most of you have some password at work that needs to be a certain number of characters that has to have numbers and it expires every month and you can’t use any of the last 10 passwords yadda yadda yadda. That sounds nice and secure but it is useless when it is so complex that your employees have to write their password on a post-it beside their monitor! For my project I challenged the admin at our school saying I could gain control of his windows admin user account. He scoffed. All the hardware and software meant shit when people propped the data centre door open with a ruler and I snuck in and gained control of a console that was logged in as admin! My point was proven. Anyways, this XKCD comic is kinda funny in the same light. All that security in the world means shit if you don’t have physical security!

XKCD comes through again to clarify something that is commonly referenced. The base system has been varying interpretations. Some say first base is kissing. Some say first base is a hand job. There is too big a difference there, and not having a solid definition can cause serious confusion for all. Thanks to XKCD we now have the complete definition.

Happy SuperBowl Sunday everyone! In honor of the big game, I am going to do what I always do. That is: buck the trend and talk about something completely different. Hey, any old blog can talk about the SuperBowl. I am going to talk about dreams. More importantly, those dreams that die and how we waste our lives. Nice and depressing! Actually, this is a pretty cool comic from XKCD that does all the explaining for me. It’s a long read, but the payoff is you get to watch a stick figure use curse words. Definitely worth it. Enjoy!
